Rhodes hoteliers said this week that they would be working with “Deliverback”, a free service that delivers items left behind to traveling owners, as part of efforts to assist holidaymakers affected by the fires on Rhodes last month and to help restore the island’s reputation and tourism season. The initiative, organized by the Rhodes Hotel Association in collaboration with the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH) and Capsule T, aims to aid vacationers forced to evacuate during the fires on Rhodes. Travelers will first have to contact the hotel or accommodation facility and ask if their missing items were found. If the answer is “yes”, they can visit the Deliverback website and fill out the form. Deliverback includes free shipping of luggage or other items for individual customers who have stayed at any of HHC member hotel. To be eligible for free shipments, Rhodes hotels must meet the following requirements: – must be association members – customer stays were interrupted due to evacuation – must be represented by an individual not an agency. “The recent fire that struck a region has caused immeasurable damage and has affected many families and businesses. During this challenging time, we want to express our solidarity with those who have suffered losses and hardships. Our initiative includes providing free shipping of luggage for individual customers who are staying at our member hotels. We are confident that together we can overcome this critical moment and pave the way for a reconstruction that will make our region more resilient and even more united. Our solidarity and cooperation are key to the recovery of our beloved island,” said the Rhodes Hotels Association in its announcement. Deliverback is a Greek service working with hotels, ferries, car rentals, Airbnbs and airports and returning lost or forgotten items to their owners.
