Aiming to further promote Thessaloniki’s tourism offerings, the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TTO) recently hosted two popular Israeli influencers in the Greek city.

The trip, co-organized by Israeli airline Sun d’or, saw Or Ben Yehuda and Or Emil Elkayam follow a busy schedule that included a stay at the city’s ONOMA Hotel, visits to several restaurants and a tour of Thessaloniki’s most popular landmarks.

The two Israeli influencers, who have a combined following of over 800,000 people on Tiktok, Instagram and Youtube, said that they were “blown away” by Thessaloniki and that they planned to revisit it soon.

“The Israeli tourism market is a key target market for us,” said TTO President Voula Patoulidou adding that the organization “remains committed to promoting Thessaloniki to Israeli travelers, with partners like Sun d’or”.

TTO’s previous efforts to attract more visitors from Israel, included its portal’s translation in Hebrew, the creation of a pocket city guide in Hebrew and a media campaign awareness in Thessaloniki’s strong connection to Jewish European history.

The number of Israeli visitors to Thessaloniki has been steadily increasing in recent years, and the TTO believes that the influencers’ positive experiences will help to further increase this number.

Israelis is the sixth most popular tourist nationality in Thessaloniki, according to Fraport Greece, the company that  manages Thessaloniki’s airport.
