Travelers Give Greek Hotels Thumbs Up for Service in June

Greek hotels outperformed those in rival markets for customer satisfaction in June, according to the latest data published by INSETE, the Greek Tourism Confederation’s (SETE) research body.

More specifically, Greek hotels remained at the top of the list in terms of customer satisfaction in June compared to those in rival markets. According to ReviewPro data assessed by INSETE, Greece held a score of 87 percent in the Global Review Index (GRI), a general online reputation score for an individual hotel, group of hotels or chain, based on data taken from major online travel agencies and review sites. Greek hotels have held the same score since March.

Cyprus hotels followed with a score of 86 percent, Spain and Italy (84 percent), Turkey (83 percent), and France (76 percent).

Greek hotels garnered the highest score for service (91 percent) together with Cyprus and Turkey, followed by Spain (90 percent), Italy (87 percent), and France with (79 percent).

As far as other indicators were concerned, Greece came second in terms of cleanliness with 91 percent after Italy and Cyprus (92 percent). Following Greece were Turkey (90 percent), Spain (89 percent), and France (79 percent).

Hotels in Greece came in third in the quality-value category with a score of 87 percent after Turkey, which was in the lead with 91 percent and Cyprus (89 percent).

In the room category, Greek hotels scored their lowest at 85 percent with Italy holding the lead at 89 percent, followed by Turkey (86 percent), Cyprus and Spain (85 percent), and France (75 percent).

Lastly, for location, Greece came third with 90 percent in June, after Turkey (93 percent) and Cyprus (92 percent). Italy followed with 89 percent and France with 87 percent.

In June, nearly 5 million travelers visited Greece, marking a new record and surpassing both arrival figures for the same month last year and pre-Covid 2019.
