‘Rhodes, What You Love is Here’ Tourism Campaign Goes Live

The South Aegean Region’s new international tourism campaign for Rhodes went live on Tuesday.

Rhodes’ tourism industry is looking to bounce back from the devastating fires last month with the new promotional campaign “Rhodes. What you love is here” aimed at attracting foreign tourists to visit the island.

“We promised to revitalize our Rhodes,” South Aegean Region Governor George Hatzimarkos said in an announcement.

Launched in collaboration with the Greek Tourism Ministry and the Greek National Tourist Organization (GNTO), the “Rhodes. What you love is here” campaign promotes the island of Rhodes as a fully functional and attractive tourism destination.

The campaign will run on multiple channels including social media platforms showcasing the island’s comparative advantages through a series of images and videos. The campaign’s promotion has been assigned to advertising company Ogilvy.

The new campaign will be seen in the island’s key tourism markets of Europe, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Scandinavian countries, France, Italy and The Netherlands. The campaign will also roll out in the markets of Israel and the United States.

“Without wasting any time, we commissioned the campaign that will put Rhodes on the screens of all Europeans and around the world… The next day finds Rhodes fully functional, with respect and love for its visitors and with the smile that always greets them. The effort continues to make the island even more beautiful, even more attractive,” the governor added.

Governor Hatzimarkos thanked Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni, Deputy Tourism Minister Elena Rapti and GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis for their cooperation and support.

Rhodes Pass for free holidays coming up

The “Rhodes. What you love is here” campaign comes a week after Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that the government would offer free weeklong holidays to those affected by the fires on the island in July.

Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni chaired a meeting on Tuesday to discuss details involving the “Rhodes Pass” platform that will be accepting requests for free holidays on the island in spring and autumn 2024. Those whose holidays were cut short due to the fires will be eligible to submit a request.

“The aim of the government is to determine the beneficiaries of the offer as accurately as possible and to proceed with the process as soon as possible,” Kefalogianni said in a post on Twitter.

All the details concerning the Rhodes Pass is expected to be announced at the end of the month.
