Air Travel SKY express, Olympic Air Get Contracts for Remote Greek Destination Air Routes by GTP editing team 21 August 2023 written by GTP editing team 21 August 2023 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 16 The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) recently announced that Greek carriers SKY express and Olympic Air will service six state-subsidized air routes to remote destinations in Greece (unprofitable routes) for the next four years. The announcement follows a tender process that launched earlier this year. The routes to be covered by the airline companies from November 1, 2023, to October 31, 2027, are the following: SKY express: Athens – Kozani – Kastoria (subsidy: 3.55 million euros), Corfu – Aktio – Kefalonia – Zakynthos (4.31 million euros), Limnos – Mytilini – Chios – Samos – Rhodes (5.83 million euros) and Rhodes – Kos – Kalymnos – Leros – Astypalea (6.37 million euros). Olympic Air (subsidiary of AEGEAN): Rhodes – Kastelorizo (5.13 million euros) and Rhodes – Karpathos – Kasos – Sitia (6.47 million euros). The HCAA’s decision is subject to approval by the Court of Auditors, in accordance with Law 4.700/2020 (Α΄127).
