Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni recently met with the new Australian Ambassador to Greece, Alison Joy, to discuss ways to promote tourism between the two countries.

During the meeting, Kefalogianni highlighted the importance of the Australian market for Greek tourism, with the goal of attracting more visitors. She also stressed the need to focus on non-Greek Australians and increase the share of this market.

Joy confirmed the growing interest of Australians in Greece and said that the country stands out for its many and varied destinations. She also expressed her support for the Greek government’s efforts to promote sustainable tourism.

Kefalogianni also met with the Mongolian Ambassador to Greece, Lkhagvasuren Sayanaa. The two ministers discussed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on sustainable tourism that was signed between the two countries in 2020. They agreed to work together to expand and strengthen tourism relations between Greece and Mongolia.

The strengthening of tourism cooperation between Greece and Mongolia is expected to complement the bilateral aviation agreement that was recently signed between the two countries.
