The 87th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), which will take place in Thessaloniki from September 9 to 17, will run with a multifaceted program of events aiming to appeal to people of all interests. With Bulgaria as the exhibition’s honored country, the Fair’s Bulgarian pavilion is expected to host a variety of events, including presentations on cutting-edge technology such as the Supercomputer; shows on crafts and illustration organized by the Faculty of Applied Arts of Sofia, Sliven, and Tryavna; and performances by music and dance groups such as the string quartet of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra or the CSKA Club of Sport Acrobatics. Another highlight of the fair will be the Congress on Natural Disaster Management, titled “Protecting life-Building resilience.” The congress will be held on September 13 in collaboration with the Economist and will bring together experts from around the world to discuss ways to mitigate the impact of natural disasters. Other featured events of the fair include: the 2nd Collectibles’ EXPO: this fair will showcase a wide variety of collectibles, including coins, stamps, medals, toys, medal, paintings, engravings, folk art and paintings revealing Thessaloniki’s history and civilization the TIF 5X5 Football Tournament: this tournament will feature teams of children, veteran footballers, journalists, artists, and executives from major companies and organizations to spread the message ” No to Violence“ the tribute to Maria Callas: this tribute will feature a set of videos and images from the period of Calla’s life in Greece in the 20s, in the new land that hosted her, New York, as well as throughout the professional path of the great Greek soprano. Considered a major event for the city of Thessaloniki and the region, the 87th TIF is expected to attract over 200,000 visitors.
