Fresh Hotel in Athens Expands, Introduces New Lobby and More Rooms

The Fresh Hotel in Athens recently expanded its premises, with the opening of a new wing designed by acclaimed Italian designer Paola Navone.

The new wing connects the original building on Sofokleous Street with the adjacent neoclassical building on Athinas Street. It features a new reception, 15 new guest rooms, and an additional, new roof garden.

The design of the new spaces is inspired by Greece’s Mediterranean flair and the Athens cityscape. It combines contemporary, neoclassical, and vintage elements, just like the modern Greek capital.

The renovation of the neoclassical building, which began in 2019, included the repair of its existing facades on Athinas and Sofokleous streets, the complete renovation of the interior, and the construction of a new mezzanine floor and two additional storeys in the form of a modern glass volume.

Inside, the two buildings were spatially and aesthetically united by Paola Navone’s design approach, which is based on the fusion of modern, classical, and traditional elements.

The rooms were decorated in shades of blue, a color that is closely linked to Greek history and culture. They feature ceramic wall and floor tiles designed by Navone herself, Gervasoni furniture, and a wealth of decorative motifs in wallpaper, carpets, and fabrics.

Six rooms, out of the 15 new rooms have views of the Acropolis, while five rooms have balconies, some with outdoor showers.

The new wing of the Fresh Hotel is a bold and innovative addition to the Athens hotel scene. It reflects the city’s rich history and culture while also embracing its modern identity.

Fresh Hotel opened its doors in 2004 at a modern building on Sofokleous street in the heart of Athens, just steps from the Acropolis, Omonoia Square and Plaka. Its original premises were also renovated, during the new wing construction, offering a new ground floor café, breakfast area and freshly decorated rooms.
