Photo source: TCB. The Thessaloniki Convention Bureau (TCB) recently announced Prodromos Monastiridis as its new president, following elections held during the bureau’s 11th annual general meeting. Monastiridis, who is the marketing director of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, takes over from Yannis Aslanis, who has served as TCB’s president for the past six years. During the meeting, Aslanis praised the work of the outgoing board of directors, saying that they had significantly increased the visibility of Thessaloniki in the global MICE market. He also thanked the Tourism Directorate of the Central Macedonia Region for their ongoing support. TCB’s new Board of Directors (BoD) is as follows: President Prodromos Monastiridis, Thessaloniki Concert Hall Organization Vice President Viki Papadimitriou, Symvoli Conference & Cultural Management Secretary General Pericles Magoulas, Makedonia Palace Treasurer Dimitris Paliouras, Global Events Deputy Secretary General Dimitris Kakaris, The Met Hotel Members Konstantina Mamada, Porto Palace Hotel Yiannis Aslanis, Mediterranean Palace Hotel The TCB is a non-profit organization that promotes Thessaloniki as a destination for conventions, meetings, and events. It works with hotels, convention centers, and other tourism businesses to provide a seamless experience for event organizers. TCB’s most recent achievements include the new series of training events called TCB crossroads. The events aim to inform local tourism executives about new data and trends in the international tourism market and the adoption of modern tools and practices. The bureau also participated in a number of international exhibitions and B2B forums in the past year, including IMEX, IBTM, Conventa, Meeting Show, and IMTM.
