The award-winning Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens achieved the 35th place in the inaugural edition of The World’s 50 Best Hotels. The highly anticipated ranking was unveiled during a ceremony held at London’s Guildhall earlier this month. This inaugural list marks a significant milestone for the renowned 50 Best brand, representing its first venture into the realm of travel since the introduction of The World’s 50 Best Bars in 2009. Featuring hotels from 35 diverse locations across six continents, the list includes four properties from the Four Seasons group, a testament to the excellence and global presence of the renowned hospitality chain. “Recognition by the 50 Best’s team is testament to the joyful energy and caring dedication that each team member delivers to each guest in our beautiful Aegean haven. It’s been quite a year for us – in the best possible way – but awards like this only inspire us to work even harder to elevate the experiences we offer and surprise our guests even more with each visit,” said the hotel’s General Manager Philippe Roux-Dessarps. The recognition comes as the latest addition to a string of accolades, following the hotel’s reopening in 2019 following an extensive 650 million euro renovation. Since its opening in 1961, the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens has held a legendary status, attracting the likes of Brigitte Bardot, Jackie Onassis, and Frank Sinatra. Its new accolade follows closely on the heels of the hotel’s first Forbes Five Star designation in 2023 and its recognition as the “Best City Hotel in Athens” in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards 2023.
