The new restaurant, which launched on September 23, represents Domes’ strategic move to expand beyond hotels and resorts, with plans to enter the lifestyle sector through standalone restaurants, beach clubs, and mixology bars. The Athens location marks the brand’s first independent venture, offering its signature à la carte and degustation menus to a new audience in Greece’s capital. Chef Petros Dimas, known for his experience at Michelin-starred restaurants, leads the kitchen with a focus on seasonal, farm-to-table cuisine sourced from his family’s organic farm in Corinth. Located in a neoclassical building in Thisio, Makris by Domes offers a fine dining experience with views of the Acropolis from its rooftop terrace. The interior design incorporates historical elements, including a glass floor that reveals the ruins of what is said to be Greece’s first inn, adding a unique touch to the restaurant’s atmosphere. The menu emphasizes local ingredients and includes dishes such as red mullet with rockfish, shrimp with caviar, and silver cod carpaccio. Two tasting menus, with options of eight or 13 courses, highlight the flavors of Greek produce. The restaurant also offers a curated wine selection featuring 250 labels from Greek and international vineyards, alongside a collection of olive oils and a signature cocktail list. Nestled amidst ancient Corinth, Makris Farm is where the finest ingredients are selected, embodying Makris Restaurants’ commitment to the farm-to-table philosophy.
