Greece outperformed competitor markets garnering the highest score for its hotels in August, according to the latest data published by INSETE, the Greek Tourism Confederation’s (SETE) research body. According to ReviewPro data assessed by INSETE, visitors to Greece were very satisfied with the quality and services provided by Greek hotels in August pushing the country’s score in the Global Review Index (GRI) to 86 percent in the top position. Second on the list was Italy with a score of 84 percent and in third spot Spain and Cyprus with 83 percent. Turkey followed with 82 percent and France with 78 percent. The GRI is an industry-standard online reputation score used by hotels worldwide as a benchmark for reputation management. The score is based on review data collected from 175 online travel agencies (OTAs) and review sites in more than 45+ languages. Greece comes in 1st for quality of services, food Photo source: Region of Attica According to INSETE data, Greece ranked first with 91 percent awarded for the quality of services, followed by Turkey (89 percent), Cyprus and Spain (88 percent), Italy (87 percent), and France (79 percent). Greece held a score of 86 percent in the value-for-money category, after Turkey (88 percent) and Cyprus (87 percent). In terms of room quality, Italy ranked first with 88 percent, followed by Turkey (85 percent), Greece, Cyprus and Spain (84 percent), and France (73 percent). In August, hotels in Greece came in fourth in terms of cleanliness with a score of 89 percent after Cyprus (94 percent), Italy (93 percent) and Turkey (90 percent). In terms of location, Greece scored 90 percent after Cyprus and Turkey (91 percent), Spain and France (90 percent), and Italy (89 percent). Greece led the way in August for the food, together with Turkey with an 85 percent score followed by Cyprus (84 percent), Italy (82 percent) and Spain (81 percent). Additionally, according to INSETE’s satisfaction index for premium destinations, Mykonos recorded the highest satisfaction score at 90 percent compared to all rival premium destinations followed by Santorini (89 percent), Saint Tropez and Sardinia (85 percent), and Ibiza (83 percent). In the value-for-money category in August, Santorini scored 94 percent, followed by Mykonos (93 percent), Saint Tropez and Sardinia (83 percent), and Ibiza (82 percent).
