Ways of strengthening the cultural bonds between Greece and Saudi Arabia were recently explored in Athens.

During a meeting at the Culture Ministry, Greek Deputy Culture Minister Christos Dimas and Saudi Arabian Deputy Minister of International Cultural Relations Fahad Bin Abdulrahman Al-Kanaan, expressed their mutual intent to enhance the cultural connection of the two countries through collaboration in a number of areas.

Key areas of interest included cultural exchanges, the exchange of best practices, and the sharing of know-how, with a particular emphasis on contemporary culture.

According to the culture ministry, both Greece and Saudi Arabia place great importance on cultural outreach and diplomacy, recognizing the potential benefits such efforts can bring to both countries, including cultural, economic, and social advancements.

“Today’s meeting confirmed the excellent and strategic relations that the two countries have developed in recent years,” said Dimas, adding that the “extroversion of contemporary Greek culture” can bring significant cultural, economic and social benefits to Greece.

Overall, the meeting in Athens reflected the commitment of both Greece and Saudi Arabia to foster cultural ties and promote understanding between their nations. As the countries continue to deepen their collaboration in the field of culture, an exchange of ideas and experiences can emerge that will contribute to the growth and enrichment of their cultural landscapes.
