Rhodes Honors Repeat Visitors from UK, Sweden, Poland and The Netherlands

The Municipality of Rhodes has honored a number of repeat visitors from the United Kingdom, Sweden, Poland, and the Netherlands for the continued love and support they show to the island.

The awards ceremonies took place in September at the office of the Tourism, Communication, Public and International Relations Deputy Mayor Kostas Taraslias.

Taraslias paid tribute to all the visiting friends of Rhodes, noting that “they are the best ambassadors” of the island in their homelands.

The repeat visitors were honored for their visits to Rhodes ranging from 13 to over 70 times. They were all presented with certificates of appreciation and gifts from local businesses.

Honorees included:

• Colin Derrick Eames from the United Kingdom, who has visited Rhodes more than 70 times and has kept his first ticket to the island in 1987.
• Arne Andersson from Sweden, who has visited Rhodes more than 30 times.
• Professor of Archaeology Januz Woloszyn from Poland.
• Couple John & Cristine Allock from England, who have visited Rhodes 26 times and their compatriot Anne Bartley, who has visited Rhodes 13 times.
• Michelle Shekleton, who has visited Rhodes more than 50 times. (UK)
• Couple Ramond & Suzan Carrick, who have come to Rhodes more than 40 times. (UK)
• Daniel Morgan, who has been coming to the island for 30 years. (UK)
• Couples Michael & Val Jones and Brian & Tina Dunk, who have been coming to Rhodes for 20 years. (UK)
• British couple Darren & Lisa Carvell, who have come to Rhodes 29 times, the last few years with their children.
• Couple Michael & Hazel Reeves, who have been coming to Rhodes for more than 28 years since 1993. (UK)
• Joke Van Der Kroon from the Netherlands, who has been coming to Rhodes for the last 18 years.

The deputy mayor highlighted that Rhodes has been a top destination for the British market for many years. He added that the municipality will continue to promote the island at international tourism exhibitions such as WTM 2023 in London.
