The Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center is set to become the focal point for Central and South-Eastern European exhibition organizers as it prepares to host the General Assembly of the Central European Fairs Alliance (CEFA) in June 2024.

The announcement came following a unanimous decision during the CEFA’s general assembly this year in Novi Sad, Serbia. Kyriakos Pozrikidis, general manager of Greece’s exhibition body TIF-HELEXPO and member of the CEFA Board of Directors, represented Thessaloniki in the decision-making event.

Having served twice as CEFA’s president in 2015 and 2016, Pozrikidis’ presence at the meeting was considered particularly significant.

This will be the second time Thessaloniki will be host destination to CEFA’s general assembly. The Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center had hosted the event back in 2016 and welcomed presidents and CEOs of 21 exhibition organizations from across Europe.

CEFA’s 2023 general assembly in Novi Sad was attended by the European Director of the International Union of Fairs and Exhibitions (UFI), Nick Dugdale-Moore, and the Serbian Economy Minister and former CEO of the Novi Sad Exhibition Company, Slobodan Cvetković.

On the sidelines of the event, Cvetković engaged in extensive discussions with Pozrikidis regarding the possibility of Serbia’s active participation in future TIF-HELEXPO exhibitions.

TIF-HELEXPO has been a CEFA member since 2013, aligning itself with this vital network of exhibition organizers.

CEFA, founded in 1995, has a mission of transforming the region into a robust gateway for internationally acclaimed exhibitions, transcending geographical boundaries and bolstering the  markets of Central and South-Eastern Europe.
