Air India, India’s premier global airline, has taken a strategic step to enhance its presence in Greece by naming Asian Aviation as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in the country. The partnership between Air India and Asian Aviation is expected to elevate the accessibility of Air India’s international network for Greek travelers, enabling seamless connections to India and beyond.

Asian Aviation, a renowned aviation services provider, is set to deliver a comprehensive suite of sales and ticketing services. This collaboration will not only solidify Air India’s foothold in Greece but also support the airline’s burgeoning growth and expansion across Europe.

The appointment of Asian Aviation as the GSA in Greece marks a significant development, promising a wealth of benefits to travelers in the area.

Greek passengers can now enjoy a more convenient gateway to Air India’s international network via key transit hubs in Europe and the Middle East.

This enhancement in connectivity facilitates smooth transfers between flights operated by Air India’s partner airlines and its own non-stop services to India and beyond.

Air India presently operates non-stop flights from nine European locations in seven countries. These European departure points include Amsterdam, Birmingham, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Milan, Paris, and Vienna, connecting passengers to major Indian cities like Delhi and Mumbai. The airline’s extensive route network provides European travelers with the convenience of seamless connections from Delhi and Mumbai to various destinations within India, as well as to Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, and Australia.

Asian Aviation brings to the table a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience in the Greek aviation landscape, having served as the GSA for some of the world’s leading airlines.

Founded by the legendary JRD Tata, Air India, a member of Star Alliance, has been a trailblazer in India’s aviation sector since its inaugural flight on October 15, 1932. The airline has expanded its domestic network significantly and now offers non-stop flights to destinations worldwide, spanning the USA, Canada, UK, Europe, Far East, Southeast Asia, Australia, and the Gulf. In January 2022, Air India and Air India Express rejoined the Tata group after 69 years as government-owned enterprises.

Under the guidance of Vihaan.AI, Air India is currently executing a five-year transformation roadmap with the aim of becoming a world-class airline with a distinct Indian identity. The first phase of this transformation, known as the “taxi phase,” recently concluded, focusing on addressing fundamental aspects. This included returning long-grounded aircraft to service, bolstering talent in flying and ground operations, swift technological advancements, and enhancing customer care initiatives, among other improvements.
