Metaxa Hospitality Group, a renowned Greek group of companies in the tourism sector, received the Environmental Initiative of the Year award at the Travel Industry Awards 2023 by TTG that took place in London last month. Held by the UK’s TTG Media and now in its third edition, the awards are widely regarded as the most prestigious in the travel industry. They employ a rigorous evaluation process, combining written submissions, agent ratings, and live presentations to recognize the top travel suppliers and sellers across Europe and the world. Metaxa Hospitality Group was honored for its outstanding commitment to sustainability through its “Sustainable Hotel Farming” program. The initiative enables the group’s hotels to produce their own food using environmentally sustainable methods. It also incorporates cultivation and horticultural practices designed to reduce the group’s environmental impact and minimize greenhouse gas emissions.
