Students from various countries engage in a five-day intensive program that covers the entire filmmaking process, from conceptualization to distribution. The courses are taught by a distinguished faculty of international experts, offering fresh and innovative perspectives and years of experience in the film industry. One of the distinguishing features of this festival is its emphasis on holistic cultural immersion. Participants are guided to key landmarks on the island, including the traditional capital Chora, the ancient settlements, and the 1,200-year-old Byzantine monastery of Chozoviotissa. They savor local products, enjoy traditional dances and music, and learn about the famous herbs of Amorgos, all of which provide ample inspiration for their creative endeavors. “YPERIA” Conference on Culture and Tourism Photo source: Amorgos International Film Festival. The festival’s success underscores its significance not only for the island but for the Cyclades, and indeed the entire country, as it serves as a point of reference among international festivals. Filmmakers, directors, and students from around the globe are invited to submit their works for competition, with the final selection made by an esteemed international jury. These jurors are prominent figures in the cinematic world, adding to the festival’s prestige. Photo source: Amorgos International Film Festival.
