During their stay, the team sampled authentic Cretan dishes such as “nerati” (traditional cheese pie) and “kaltsounia“(small cheese or herb pies), and filmed local chefs cooking “antikristo” (meat coooked in a traditional way) and “kakavia” (fish cooked in a ceramic pot) in unique ways. They also visited spots where “raki” (local alcohol drink) is produced, explored historic sites like the Toplou Monastery, and visited traditional restaurants and markets in Heraklion and Sitia. The crew expressed their satisfaction with the island’s abundance of authentic experiences that visitors can have.
