Italy’s flag carrier ITA Airways on Thursday took delivery of its first A321neo aircraft after it rolled out of Airbus’ Hamburg paint shop in Germany.

The aircraft is the largest member of the Airbus A320neo Family and offers unparalleled range and performance. It is also the first ITA Airways narrowbody aircraft to feature a three-class configuration.

The A321neo is equipped with the latest generation engines and aerodynamics, which deliver 22 percent lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per seat compared to previous-generation aircraft. It also has a 50 percent reduced noise footprint.

The cabin interior of the A321neo is designed by Walter de Silva and features new colors, materials, and seats. It also has XL overhead bins and a state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system with 4K resolution displays.

The Airbus A321neo is a major innovation for ITA Airways and its addition further consolidates the company’s all-Airbus fleet strategy. It is also a significant step forward in ITA Airways’ commitment to sustainability and customer service.

Key features of the ITA Airways A321neo include:

  • Three-class configuration: Business Class (12 seats), Premium Economy (12 seats), and Economy (141 seats)
  • Latest generation “on-demand” video and audio entertainment system with 17.3” (Business), 15.6” (Premium Economy), and 13.3” (Economy) low reflectance touchscreen displays with 4K resolution
  • Wi-Fi connection system
