The European Travel Agents’ and Tour Operators’ Association (ECTAA) has recently held its semi-annual meeting in Lamego, Portugal with the support of the Portuguese Association of Travel & Tourism Agencies (APAVT). The meeting focused on two key themes: climate action and artificial intelligence (AI). Over 50 delegates representing travel companies from across Europe attended the meeting. ECTAA’s ambitious Climate Action Plan, which aims to reduce the organization’s carbon footprint by 50 percent by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The role of AI in enhancing efficiency and customer experiences within the travel sector. How travel advisors can continue to provide vital services in the fully digital age, providing personalized service and expertise. How small travel companies can harness AI technologies to improve their services and remain competitive. “Our meeting in Lamego reflects our unwavering commitment to address climate change and embrace the future of the travel industry with AI.
