ECTAA Annual Meeting in Lamego, Portugal Focuses on Climate Action and AI

The European Travel Agents’ and Tour Operators’ Association (ECTAA) has recently held its semi-annual meeting in Lamego, Portugal with the support of the Portuguese Association of Travel & Tourism Agencies (APAVT). The meeting focused on two key themes: climate action and artificial intelligence (AI).

Over 50 delegates representing travel companies from across Europe attended the meeting. They discussed a range of topics related to climate action and AI, including:

  • ECTAA’s ambitious Climate Action Plan, which aims to reduce the organization’s carbon footprint by 50 percent by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
  • The role of AI in enhancing efficiency and customer experiences within the travel sector.
  • How travel advisors can continue to provide vital services in the fully digital age, providing personalized service and expertise.
  • How small travel companies can harness AI technologies to improve their services and remain competitive.
