A team from the popular Spanish TV show “Aqui la Tierra” recently visited Kynouria in Arcadia, Peloponnese, to promote the destination’s gastronomic heritage, traditional settlements and customs to Spain and the broader Spanish-speaking market.

The press trip, organized by the Greek National Tourism Organization ‘s (GNTO) Spanish branch, the Peloponnese Region and local tourism associations, saw the show’s crew capturing moments such as chestnut gathering and dessert-making in Kastanitsa, local pasta preparation in Sitina, fishing on Kynouria’s waters, and the making of the traditional “kakavia” dish in Paralio Astros.

Aqui la Tierra, renowned for highlighting local cuisine, sustainable practices, and unique customs that define each destination it explores, attracts over one million viewers per episode since its inception in 2014, earning its status as TVE1’s primary program. To meet the growing demand, the show has been extended to a one-hour format starting in October.

In December 2022, the show’s crew also visited Thessaloniki, creating a tribute episode on the city that drew a viewership of 1,327,000. The three upcoming reports from Kynouria are expected to introduce Spanish-speaking audiences to this unique Greek region and its rich cultural and culinary traditions, making it a must-see destination.
