A new tool that will provide in-depth tourism data was presented last week by INSETE, the Greek Tourism Confederation’s (SETE) research body, during 38th Philoxenia International Tourism Exhibition, held in Thessaloniki last weekend.

Currently in pilot phase, the Greek Tourism Analytics Dashboard (GTAD) was presented during an event and demo jointly organized by SETE, INSETE and Marketing Greece at Philoxenia.

The GTAD, a joint initiative of INSETE, Quantos and the Aoppsi Group of Companies, will serve as a modern and intelligent data collection and analysis system. Statistics will be gathered from various sources, and will also include open data and big data that respond to individual needs. The aims is to create understandable specialized reports focusing on such areas as market segmentation, demand forecasting, optimization of marketing actions, investment planning, etc that can be used in decision-making by a range of businesses.

INSETE aims to make the GTAD the first integrated data hub for Greek tourism providing information also in English. INSETE hopes to have the platform up and running soon. In addition to the products offered, the GTAD will also include INSETE’s other business intelligence tools.

Speaking about the project, INSETE Research Director Aris Ikkos said the institute has repeatedly invested in the utilization of data for documented information. He added that the aim of the GTAD is to create a hub for data analysis and synthesis which can be used for national, regional and local planning as well as for business activity.
