Passenger traffic across all airports in Greece during January-October 2023 exceeded the full-year result of 2022 by 5 percent, the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) said on Monday.

According to data by the HCAA, 66,844,615 passengers were handled at Greece’s airports during the first ten months of this year, topping 2022 full-year results of 63,672,121 passengers.

“From the analysis and comparison of the data, it appears that the passenger traffic of the first ten months of 2023 exceeded the 12-month results of 2022 by 5 percent,” the authority said.

Greece’s airports include Athens International Airport (AIA) (see January-October 2023 results here), 24 regional airports managed by the HCAA and 14 regional airports under the management of Fraport Greece (see January-October 2023 results here).

Moreover, the HCAA’s data revealed that flights and passenger traffic across all Greek airports during October and the first ten months of the year showed a significant increase, compared to the corresponding periods of 2022 and 2019.

Good news, but my wife and I waited over an hour when leaving Kos Airport to get our flight back to the UK. A ridiculous amount of time to wait. It puts us off coming back to Greece.
