Travel agencies in Italy can now register to Lufthansa Group’s NDC Partner Program. Upon activation, they will be able to shop, book and service NDC content using the Sabre Offer and Order APIs, the agency booking solution, Sabre Red 360, and the online booking tool, GetThere. Following the launch in Italy, Lufthansa Group’s NDC-enabled content is expected to be rolled out globally in waves during the first half of 2024. “This launch is a milestone for Sabre in Europe. It is the third activation of NDC content from EMEA in less than a month and we are only getting started,” said Sean McDonald, Vice President, EMEA, Sabre Travel Solutions. The five Lufthansa Group airlines join the growing number of carriers that distribute their NDC offers in more than 150+ markets through the Sabre GDS. Through its Beyond NDC program, Sabre is innovating to deliver retailing solutions across the end-to-end customer journey, from offer creation all the way to fulfillment. “Now is the time for travel agencies to get ready and take advantage of a world where NDC and traditional content sit side by side – and we are ready to support them” McDonald said. Sabre has integrated and normalized EDIFACT and NDC content so that it’s easy for travel agencies to compare and book the right option for their customers with easy processing by their mid and back-office systems.
