Sani Resort Celebrates Wins Across Four Categories at World Travel Awards 2023

Greece’s Sani Resort in Halkidiki took home four prestigious awards from the World Travel Awards (WTA) Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2023.

Held at Dubai’s Burj Al Arab, the red-carpet reception marked the climax of WTA’s landmark 30th anniversary of celebrating travel and hospitality excellence.

The Sani/Ikos Group’s flagship resort in Kassandra, Halkidiki, the Sani Resort received the titles of “World’s Leading Family & Beach Resort” for the fifth year running and “World’s Leading Luxury Green Resort” for the fourth time, making it the only resort in the history of the WTA’s to win those awards for so many years in a row.

Moreover, the Sani Resort won the newly established “World’s Leading Sustainable Resort” award, entering the leading position in the field of sustainable tourism.

“Set in 1,000 acres of an eco-reserve, Sani Resort’s fourth ‘World Leading Luxury Green Resort’ win and winning the first ever ‘World’s Leading Sustainable Resort’ award, further cements the destination as a leader in the sustainability market, highlighting its continuous efforts in introducing sustainable initiatives to preserve the natural surroundings and biodiversity, encourage participation in eco-conservation practices and support the local community,” the resort’s management said in an announcement.

The Sani Resort was also named “World’s Leading Cultural Destination Resort” for the second consecutive year, an important recognition for the two international festivals that Sani Resort organizes each year: the culinary Sani Gourmet, which brings together award-winning chefs from all over the world, and the Sani Festival, an iconic music festival on the hill of Sani Resort, counting over 30 years of history and magical musical evenings.
