Company updates Metaxa Hospitality Group Releases Annual Sustainability Report by GTP editing team 22 December 2023 written by GTP editing team 22 December 2023 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 46 As part of its ongoing sustainable hospitality actions, the Metaxa Hospitality Group, operating hotels on the islands of Crete and Santorini, released this week its annual sustainable development report for 2022 in accordance with GRI Standards 2021. The yearly report presents actions and results in four key categories: sustainable hospitality, corporate governance practices, environmental actions and welfare for people and the local community. The report, issued annually since 2018, is aimed at ensuring the transparent collection of data and paving the way for comparison with other groups on an international level. It also examines the group’s management approach and performance in sustainable development targets for the last three years establishing in this way a basis for comparison. In accordance with global GRI 2021 standards, an extensive materiality analysis was carried out on environmental, social and corporate governance. The 2022 sustainability report, also examined the implementation of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the updated ESG Information Disclosure Guide of the Athens Stock Exchange. The report included the exchange of data between all of the Metaxas Group hotels and services. “Sustainable development is the cornerstone of our journey, serving in practice sustainable hospitality for all. With a ‘Think Global – Act Local’ approach character, we respond to global trends for tourist experiences utilizing sustainable development criteria,” said Metaxa Hospitality Group CEO Andreas Metaxas. Earlier this year, the Metaxa Hospitality Group received the Environmental Initiative of the Year award during the Travel Industry Awards 2023 by TTG in London.
