Effective January 4, Dimitris took over the role from Eleni Sotiriou, who remains at the bureau in the position of Special Advisor. Dimitris, who has been TCB’s Marketing & Communications Manager since 2021, was the project manager of the tourism and cultural projects implemented in Thessaloniki in collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the Municipality of Thessaloniki. Also, in 2023 he was elected Deputy chair at the ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) Mediterranean Chapter. “The Board of Directors of TCB welcomes Dimitris to his new role and wishes him every success in his work, with the ultimate goal of further promoting the destination into international markets and highlighting and promoting the potential of Thessaloniki and the wider region as a citybreak and leisure destination, as well as a destination for conferences and corporate meetings,” the bureau said in an announcement. TCB is a non-profit member-based organization set up by a group of private companies, leading partners of the events and conventions industry, acting as intermediary link between meeting planners and local service providers, conference centers, venues, hotels, PCOs & DMCs. The bureau’s mission is to establish Thessaloniki as an ideal meeting and convention destination, targeting at increasing international networking, hosting highly professional MICE events, participating at the most important Meetings Industry events worldwide. TCB undertakes a number of actions and initiatives to implement its mission and attract global interest for the destination.
