Every year, Google publishes its ‘Year in Search’ data, a report showing what users have Googled over the past 12 months. The most-searched-for countries on Google in 2023 were: 1. Greece 2. Spain 3. Italy 4. Portugal 5. Croatia 6. Cyprus 7. Thailand 8. Egypt 9. Malta 10. Morocco In its report, Conde Nast Traveler cites Mykonos, Kefalonia, Athens, Santorini, Corfu and Crete as top destinations making Greece “a destination that keeps on giving… bound to impress, time after time”. Rhodes was the most Googled travel city/island of 2023 Referring to Rhodes on the most Googled travel cities and islands of 2023 list, Conde Nast Traveler said the island is “pretty special” managing to “slowly build itself back up” after the devastating fires last year. “The island has yet to fully recover, but the interest from travelers eager to support Rhodes is testament to the island’s beauty”, it said. In efforts to restore tourism to Rhodes, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis offered on UK television to cover the cost of weeklong holidays for those affected by the destructive fires last summer. Also on the list ranking 6th is Cyprus.
