Travel technology and distribution solutions provider Amadeus has appointed Myrto Vassiloglou as country manager in Greece, with additional responsibility for the Cyprus and Malta markets. Effective from January 1, the new appointment follows the retirement of Evangelia (Eva) Karamanou after 20 years of leading the Amadeus team from Athens. “Eva has helped to grow and position Amadeus as the travel technology of choice in Greece and Cyprus. She leaves the team in a strong position and in the capable hands of Myrto Vassiloglou,” Gabriele Rispoli, Director of Account Management, EMEA Travel Sellers Europe, Amadeus, said. Myrto joined Amadeus in 2007 as a Commercial Account Manager, after gaining 10 years’ experience in the airline industry and a university degree in Tourism. “Myrto has been with the company for more than 16 years and has a deep understanding of the business landscape and how Amadeus can meet the needs of our customers,” Rispoli added. As the new General Manager and Head of Field Sales Travel Sellers for Greece, Cyprus and Malta, Myrto will be responsible for driving the overall business in the markets. On her part, Myrto welcomed the new opportunity. “Over the years I have worked closely with customers and partners to develop trust and mutual success,” she said. Eva Karamanou. Myrto and Eva have been working closely together for the past weeks in order to ensure a seamless transition for customers, employees, and business partners. “I’m confident that the Amadeus team will continue to build on the strong foundation that is Eva’s legacy in 2024 and beyond,” she added.
