The campaign, which included footage from previous promotional videos, promoted Thessaloniki as an ideal city break destination to visit and celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve. “Thessaloniki is a city where visitors can enjoy the holiday mood, taste the popular dishes of the Greek capital of gastronomy, get to know the hospitable locals and revel with them until dawn,” the organization highlighted in an announcement. TTO’s Christmas campaign managed to successfully promote the Greek northern city’s festive side to 700,000 users on Instagram, 300,000 on TikTok and 500,000 on Facebook. The campaign was promoted to 10 international markets abroad. “Throughout the years Thessaloniki is winning the title of the Capital of Christmas,” the organization’s president, Voula Patoulidou, said, adding that the number of views on social media are proof of Thessaloniki’s successful promotion during the past years. “The presence of tourists in Thessaloniki during the holidays confirms this,” she said.
