Destinations news Drama International Short Film Festival 2024: Call For Entries by GTP editing team 17 January 2024 written by GTP editing team 17 January 2024 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 51 Photo Source: Drama International Short Film Festival The Drama International Short Film Festival (DISFF), which will run from 2 to 8 September, is now accepting submissions for its 47th edition, the Region of Eastern Macedonia recently announced. Filmmakers from all over the world are welcome to send their creations for the festival’s five international competition programs. Interested parties this year can register and submit their film by May 15 for the National and National Student programs, and by May 8 for the International, International Student and Kiddo programs. Additionally, DISFF this year will be accepting submissions for the International Animation and Short & Green programs. How to participate In order to submit films for the national competition, a Greek premiere is required, while only fiction, documentary, experimental and animated films completed during 2023 or 2024 will be accepted. Participation in the national programs is free. There is a cost of participation in international programs. To participate in the International Competition, films must be produced in 2023 or 2024, while the duration of the film must not exceed 40 minutes. For the International Student Competition (2023-2024 productions), the duration of the film must not exceed 25 minutes. The festival gived creators the opportunity to network and collaborate to elevate the standards of the short film industry. “The Drama Festival is considered one of the most important of its kind in Europe, ensuring contestants a chance to claim an Oscar nomination”, the Region of Eastern Macedonia said in its announcement. Last year, the “ticket” for the Oscar awards was earned by the films Bear Hole (Krysianna Papadakis – Stergios Dinopoulos) and Aqueronte (Manuel Munoz Rivas).
