The Region of Thessaly is looking to keep the Pelion Ski Center open all year round with off-season activities in an aim to boost tourism.

Located at Agriolefkes on Mount Pelion, the ski center opened its doors for the season in late December under new administration.

“The Pelion Ski Center is the largest tourism and sport facility of Magnesia, fully organized and safe, which attracts millions of visitors and athletes,” the Region said in an announcement.

The regional authority’s aim is for the ski center to act as a “frontline” for the promotion of the regional unit of MagnesiaSporades, open all 12 months of the year and outside the ski season, offering new activities to Greek visitors and tourists.
