The logo depicts a composition of the letters G (from Greece) and J (from Japan) in the national colors of blue and red. Last year, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida during the Japan-Greece Summit and declared 2024 the “Year of Culture and Tourism”. During his Tokyo visit, Mitsotakis invited Japanese investors to discover the wide range of opportunities on offer in Greece. In October, Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni met with the president of the Greek-Japanese Association, Yasuyoshi Karasawa, and Japan’s Ambassador to Greece Nakayama Yasunori with whom she discussed ways to strengthen tourist flows between the two countries. Embassy announces open invitation for proposals This week, the Embassy of Japan announced an open invitation for proposals concerning the organization of events and activities for the “2024 Greece-Japan Year of Culture and Tourism”. Eligible events to take place in Greece between January 1 and December 31, include music, performance, arts and craftmanship, sports, seminars, tourism, food and beverage (F&B), promotional campaign or other events in line with the goals of the year of culture and tourism and should promote the friendly ties and mutual understanding between Japan in Greece.
