with a fascinating panorama of its history.

Daily screenings at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom, from 11 to 18 February

Hotel Grande Bretagne, a Luxury Collection Hotel, in Athens, kicks off the Always Grand celebrations for its 150th anniversary with a unique audiovisual experience, inviting viewers on a captivating journey through history.

From 11 to 18 February, the pioneering exhibition “A Journey Through Time: The Immersive Experience” lands at the hotel’s iconic Grand Ballroom; a spectacular extravaganza which seamlessly blends together images, sounds and stories to narrate the hotel’s story, the exhibition uses projection mapping on various surfaces to create an imaginative and multi-dimensional environment, which embraces the viewer and takes them back to the year 1874, when Hotel Grande Bretagne was founded. As the hotel’s enduring tale unfolds, the viewer comes across pivotal moments in the country’s history.

From the hotel’s leading position in the revival of the modern-day Olympic Games in 1896, its dynamic contribution to the development of the country’s hospitality industry and its crucial relationship with the events of the Second World War, to the formation of the Government of National Unity on its 5th floor in 1974, its iconic balls and many other milestones in the country’s political, social and urban life, the exhibition highlights all these factors which make Hotel Grande Bretagne the flagship of Greek hospitality and a timeless emblem of the country’s urban life.

The exhibition is being held on the occasion of the hotel’s year-round celebrations for its 150th anniversary, entitled “Hotel Grand Bretagne 150 Years: Always Grand”. Admission is free with advance booking at Eventora. All screenings will be held daily, in both Greek and English.
