Jet2.com and Jet2holidays confirmed this week the launch of their biggest ever flying program to Greece, offering more than 1.52 million seats to dozens of destinations.

The UK leisure airline and tour operator have over 1.52 million arriving seats on sale to Greece this year, marking a 12 percent capacity increase, with almost 320 weekly flights operating per week during peak periods.

The companies’ program of flights and holidays to Greece is the biggest ever and carried out with the support of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) through a joint marketing campaign.

“Jet2’s commitment to extending the tourism season and illuminating new destinations in Greece aligns seamlessly with our vision.,” GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis said.

In total, Jet2 will operate from 11 UK airports to 14 Greek airports this year: namely to those of Athens, Corfu, Chania and Heraklion (Crete), Kefalonia, Halkidiki, Kos, Kalamata, Lesvos, Preveza, Rhodes, Skiathos, Santorini, and Zakynthos.

In addition to the Symi and Athens Coast options, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will also be launching seven brand new routes: Liverpool – Corfu / Liverpool – Heraklion / Liverpool – Kos / Liverpool – Rhodes / Liverpool – Zante / Birmingham – Lesvos / Newcastle – Chania.

“The success of our year-round joint marketing program further underscores the effectiveness of our collaboration, playing a pivotal role in realising yet another year of remarkable growth for Greece’s tourism industry,” Fragakis added.

The two UK companies also increased capacity in March and April to Crete (Heraklion), Corfu, Lesvos, Rhodes and Santorini and extended the season for Crete (Heraklion) and Rhodes until mid-November.

To meet the soaring demand, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will be offering customers the choice from almost 1,500 2- to 5-star hotels, with 200 new hotels and almost 300 villa properties on sale.

“This year will see us operate our biggest ever program to Greece, and we have invested significantly in ensuring that customers know all about this fantastic destination,” said Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.

“Greece offers UK holidaymakers perfect holidays in amazing hotels with guaranteed sunshine, and these are just a few of the many reasons why it continues to be such a firm favorite with our customers,” he added.
