Dedicated to the art of animation, the 17th edition of the Animasyros festival will include competition sections, special tributes, Agora educational workshops, and a rich program of activities with new international and domestic collaborations. In honor of its tenth anniversary, Agora, one of the festival’s most important components, will launch a new strategic alliance with the world’s largest animation festival, Annecy International Animation Festival. These actions will honor African contemporary animation creation and production and highlight the mosaic of storytelling and artistic innovation that comes from this part of the world. Moreover, Animasyros will host the Animation Agora Days, a two-day event for Greek creators in Athens during the summer before the festival. By covering a wide range of topics, from advertising to VR, Animasyros will provide animation professionals with the opportunity to promote their work and meet with leaders of the animation industry. Film submissions until June 1! Animasyros is inviting creators from all over the world to submit films until June 1. The artistic program features 8 competition sections, with respective awards: the International Competition Section; the TV and Commissioned Film Competition Section; the Student Competition Section; the Feature Film Competition Section running for the Audience Prize; the Prize for the Best Greek Speaking Film awarded by the Greek Film Center; the K.ID.S. Competition Section; the Animapride Competition Section; and the #ThisisEU European Values Competition Section.
