The Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (ΤΤΟ) recently showcased the innovative steps it takes for the city’s tourism promotion, during an event held on the sidelines of the 32nd Money Show Business and Economic Polyconference at the Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki Hotel.

Held in collaboration with the International Hellenic University, the event was attended by TTO’s president and Regional Vice Governor Voula Patoulidou; the Deputy Governor of the region of Central Macedonia, responsible for tourism issues, Vicky Hadjivassiliou; and Thessaloniki Deputy Mayor for Culture and Tourism Development, Vassilis Gakis.

During the event, Patoulidou referred to the latest achievements of Thessaloniki, including the “impressive” increase in domestic and international flights during the winter months of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

“These figures show how we are headed towards the goal of achieving tourism 365 days a year,” she said.

Patoulidou highlighted that a key role in the organization’s strategy was using digital tools and forming partnerships. The organization’s partners include the Region of Central Macedonia, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Port Organization of Thessaloniki, and local tourism professionals.

On his part, Deputy Mayor Vassilis Gakis said the municipality’s new administration has Thessaloniki’s tourism promotion among its main priorities. He also suggested that the region’s local authorities find ways to work together for the benefit of neighboring destinations including Halkidiki and Pieria.

The Money Show Business and Economic Polyconference is a significant event in North Greece, with the main aim of establishing a strong business environment through the effective collaboration of state institutions. The event is organized by the Greek-Italian Chamber of Thessaloniki and Organotecnica, in cooperation with the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry and under the auspices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Macedonia-Thrace Administration), the Region of Central Macedonia, and the Municipality of Thessaloniki.
