The new nonstop flight will allow ITA Airways to obtain not only a strategic entry for point-to-point traffic, but also to reach other destinations within both countries, thus combining leisure and business travel.

The flights will be operated with the new generation and technologically advanced Airbus A321neo.

The largest in the Airbus A320neo family, the aircraft boasts more than 20 percent lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per seat and enables a 50 percent reduction in noise impact compared to previous generation aircraft.

With the new Rome – Dakar connection opening in the 2024 summer season, ITA Airways will operate 57 destinations, including 16 domestic, 26 international and 15 intercontinental.

In addition, in the summer peak, the company will fly to 10 additional seasonal tourism destinations, including Rhodes, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Heraklion, Corfu, Lampedusa, Pantelleria, Split and Kefalonia (the two latter only from Rome Fiumicino).
