Air Travel AEGEAN: Travelers Can Change February 28 Tickets Due to Potential Strike by GTP editing team 26 February 2024 written by GTP editing team 26 February 2024 1 comment Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 18 UPDATE (11pm, February 27): The strike action announced by Greece’s air traffic controllers union was deemed “illegal” after the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority had appealed against it in court. The strike therefore has been cancelled. Flights on Wednesday, February 28, will take place normally. In view of a potential strike of air traffic controllers on Wednesday, February 28, Greek airline company AEGEAN issued an announcement for passengers scheduled to travel on AEGEAN and Olympic Air flights that day. According to the announcement, until the granting of a relevant NOTAM for the flight cancellation by the competent Civil Aviation Authority, all passengers traveling on AEGEAN and Olympic Air flights on Wednesday, February 28, may change their tickets without any reissue fee and fare difference. This follows the announcement made by the Hellenic Air Traffic Controllers Union (EEEKE) regarding its participation in the 24-hour general strike announced by ADEDY. AEGEAN and Olympic Air passengers are advised to check the latest flight details by visiting the airlines’ official websites or contacting their customer service centers. I am travelling on this day and I have already noticed Eadyjet have put up there prices for the following days. I am also struggling with the cost of living but does anybody really care these days about Jo public. Non of us have a clue what’s going on because Aegean have just sent me a message asking me to check in. People need time to change plans not a few hours before we are due to fly.
