Mainland Greece and its tourist offerings were showcased during this year’s ITB Berlin expo last week as part of efforts by the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation (known in Greek as POX) and the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) to introduce lesser-known destinations to visitors. Among others, Greece’s hoteliers highlighted the quality and value of Greek hotels which combined with the country’s stunning landscapes, gastronomy, architecture, cultural sites, history, and special forms of tourism offer a comprehensive tourism experience. The Hellenic Hoteliers Federation with Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni at the Greek stand at ITB Berlin. “We presented a unique value proposition with competitive prices and great growth prospects. Greece is constantly gaining ground in the international tourism market. Increases in pre-bookings in some areas are approaching 10 percent,” said POX President Yiannis Hatzis. At ITB Berlin, the federation and its members were hosted at the Greek stand, under the umbrella of the GNTO. “We’ve enjoyed a solid collaboration with POX for the promotion of mainland Greece as a tourist destination since 2021. In addition to our targeted campaigns for Greek winter and Greekend, we have also gone ahead with special events abroad to present experiences beyond the sea and sun,” said GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis. According to POX General Secretary Aggelos Kallias, the association has strengthened its cooperation with the GNTO and is aiming to promote hospitality and experiences all year round beyond the Greek islands.
