Greece Sees Four Wins at 4th Annual World MICE Awards

Two hotels, one destination management company and one exhibition center in Greece were honored at the annual World MICE Awards Gala Ceremony that took place recently at the Ritz-Carlton in Berlin, Germany.

In its 4th edition, the World MICE Awards event celebrates the finest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) brands from across the globe. The World MICE Awards is the sister event to the World Travel Awards that recently celebrated their 31^st edition.

“The World MICE Awards have had the privilege of recognizing brands that are stellar examples of excellence in their field. My congratulations to each of them,” said Graham Cooke, founder of the World MICE Awards.

In the World category, Qatar’s MICE sector was acknowledged, with Doha voted “World’s Best MICE Destination,” while Qatar Airways was named “World’s Best MICE Airline.” The Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel was voted “World’s Best MICE Hotel,” and the National Museum of Qatar was crowned “World’s Best MICE Event Venue.”

Athens Metropolitan Expo: Greece’s Best Convention Center 2023

The Athens Metropolitan Expo is the largest and most modern exhibition, conference, and events center in Greece, with a total area of 160.000 square meters. The center includes four halls, which can be formed into conference rooms of different sizes and capacities based on the needs of each host conference; four meeting rooms; and two conference halls. Metropolitan Expo also features high-aesthetic catering areas based on international trends, with a focus on functionality.

Nominees in the same category were the Convention Center Mikis Theodorakis and the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre (MAICC).

Mideast Travel Worldwide: Greece’s Best MICE Organizer 2023

Winner destinations at the 4th annual World MICE Awards included Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, “Asia’s Best MICE Destination,” Jamaica, “Caribbean’s Best MICE Destination,”  Lisbon, “Europe’s Best MICE Destination,” and Seattle, “North America’s Best MICE Destination.”

In the aviation sector, TAP Portugal claimed the coveted title of “Europe’s Best MICE Airline”; Vietnam Airlines took the title of “Asia’s Best MICE Airline”; and Delta Air Lines walked away with “North America’s Best MICE Airline.”

The results of the the 4th annual World MICE Awards follow a one-year search for the world’s leading MICE brands. Votes were cast by MICE industry professionals and the public, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named as the winner.
