“Tourism is one of the most important capitals in which we should invest in order to promote the development perspective of Thessaloniki,” the new president of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization said.

“We must face the growing challenges and demands of an ever-evolving market by promoting the comparative advantages of our city and serving the good of sustainable tourism development,” Angeloudis said.

Angeloudis said the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization will follow a strategy for the city’s tourism development which needs the cooperation between the public and private sectors.

“I call for unity and cooperation of all agencies involved in tourism… We aspire for the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization to develop into an arm of the city’s promotion abroad, looking forward to forming synergies and partnerships that will strengthen the city’s tourism identity of the city, making it a point of reference and an even more beloved destination,” he said, thanking outgoing president Voula Patoulidou for her “productive tenure” and contribution.

On her part, Patoulidou said she hopes for the new president to take Thessaloniki even higher.

“I am happy to hand over the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization after a successful course in the city’s tourism development and I feel that I am leaving it in ‘good hands’… The tourism course of Thessaloniki is the result of the partnerships and the strategy we carried out,” she said.
