ABTA – The Travel Association (formerly known as the Association of British Travel Agents) on Thursday announced that Costa Navarino in Messinia, Greece, will host the 2024 ABTA Travel Convention, scheduled to take place during October 7-9.

ABTA’s Travel Convention is the UK travel industry’s forward-looking and flagship event; providing opportunities to network and discuss the future of travel and tourism. ABTA members – senior professionals spanning the travel sector, including tour operators, cruise lines and travel retailers, will attend the convention.

“I am very pleased to reveal Costa Navarino as the host destination for our 2024 Travel Convention,” said ABTA Chief Executive Mark Tanzer, adding that the emerging area of Greece is a brilliant addition to the country’s tourism offering.

Located in the southwest Peloponnese, Costa Navarino is a growing development of mixed-use resorts with luxury hotels, state-of-the-art conference facilities, world-class spas, signature golf courses and high-end private residences.

“I know our delegates will thoroughly enjoy experiencing everything the area has to offer and raising its profile with UK travelers,” Tanzer said.

This will be the second time Costa Navarino will host ABTA’s travel convention. Navarino Dunes of Costa Navarino hosted the 2015 ABTA Travel Convention.

“We’re returning to Greece at a time when the country is developing its tourism offering to attract visitors all-year round. With UK holidaymakers increasingly looking to travel out of peak season, I’m excited to offer the opportunity for delegates to explore this destination, which has seen continued development since it hosted the Convention almost ten years ago.”

The Host Partner for the 2024 ABTA Travel Convention is the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO).

“We are absolutely delighted to be the host of ABTA’s esteemed 2024 Travel Convention, solidifying and deepening our exceptional partnership across all levels,” GNTO in UK & Ireland Director Eleni Skarveli said.

“Nestled in the heart of the Peloponnese, we are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to showcase the epitome of Greek hospitality, the splendour of nature, and the rich cultural tapestry to the British tourism elite.”

Registration and more details on the event program will be available at www.thetravelconvention.com in the coming weeks. The area’s local airport is Kalamata and details of suitable flights for attendees will be available soon.

ABTA is the largest travel trade body in the UK with over 4,600 travel brands in membership. The association raise and maintain standards aiming to build a more sustainable travel industry, and provide travelers with advice, guidance and support.
