The Cypriot-flagged Daleela, which can transport 400 passengers and 200 vehicles, will operate the first route for 2024 from the port of Limassol on May 29 and complete services on September 3. Operating company Scandro Holding Ltd said the Larnaca port stop was not included in this year’s services. Online booking services are open with fares close to last year’s levels. According to data, more than 7,400 passengers traveled with the Daleela and over 2,400 vehicles between May and September 2023. “The numbers confirm that the Cyprus-Greece coastal shipping connection is necessary but also has sustainable prospects,” said Cyprus Deputy Shipping Minister Marina Hadjimanolis, adding that the ministry would continue to “firmly support the connection and work to make it sustainable, which is also the ultimate goal of this project”. The Limassol to Piraeus ferry connection had been on a 21-year hiatus before Scandro Holding won the tender launched by the Cypriot Deputy Ministry of Shipping in 2022 and relaunched services.
