Company updates Attica Group Invests €14m for Second Hotel on Naxos by GTP editing team 10 April 2024 written by GTP editing team 10 April 2024 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 23 Attica Group, a leading coastal shipping company in Greece, recently acquired a second hotel complex on Naxos, further expanding its presence on the Greek island. The Group, through its subsidiary company Attica Blue Hospitality, acquired 100 percent of the shares of the Galaxy Hotel’s previous owner for 14 million euros. The hotel is near the Naxos Resort Beach Hotel, the Group’s first hotel on the island. Built in 1990 near the beach of Agios Georgios, the recently renovated Galaxy Hotel complex covers a total area of 6,035 square meters and has 54 rooms, 104 beds and a swimming pool. According to a company announcement, the acquisition is part of Attica Group’s expanded investment plan on Naxos that began in 2021 when the Naxos Resort Beach Hotel complex was acquired. The Naxos Resort Beach Hotel will operate as a joint unit with the newly acquired Galaxy Hotel. “Our expansion in the hotel industry with two hotels on Naxos and one on Tinos, creates the background for providing comprehensive services to our customers and creating further value through of the synergies that will arise,” Attica Group CEO Panos Dikaios said in an announcement. Attica Group has also acquired neighboring plots of land near the hotels, adding up to a total area of some 4.9 acres to date. The Group’s hotel presence on Naxos amounts to 142 rooms and 286 beds with the prospect of reaching 200 rooms and 500 beds respectively through further development. The overall design of the project aims to create one of the largest hotel units in Naxos. According to Dikaios, the Group’s investment in hospitality will strengthens the local economy and contribute to the tourism development of Greece. “Attica Group will continue to expand its presence in the wider tourism sector through acquisitions and investments in other islands as well,” he said. Attica Group is the parent company of Superfast Ferries, Blue Star Ferries and Hellenic Seaways. In 2023 the Group took over ANEK Lines.
