The Greek carrier on Wednesday announced that it achieved robust growth in the first quarter of 2024 year-on-year. According to data, domestic and international traffic during January-March was up by 5 percent and 42.5 percent respectively while the airline’s flight operations grew by seven percent. The airline’s strong growth in passenger traffic and flight operations led to a significant increase in the company’s revenue by 26 percent. Routes’ expansion SKY express continues its successful performance in 2024 with a 26 percent increase in the frequency of routes to leading European destinations. More specifically, according to the company’s announcement, routes from Athens to Rome, Milan and Munich, as well as the itineraries from Heraklion, Crete, to Paris, have been strengthened. Also, new routes from Athens to Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Warsaw, as well as from Rhodes to Paris, and from Heraklion to Larnaca have been added to the company’s flight schedule, expanding its international network. Flights to more international destinations this summer The airline’s international scheduled flight program has expanded for the summer and now operates towards 15 international destinations, while more than 3,000 charter flights have been added from France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Slovakia, Moldova, Serbia, Romania, Poland and Italy, in cooperation with leading tour operators. Increase in available seats According to SKY express, available seats offered will see an 10 percent increase. Specifically for popular Greek summer destinations such as the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, the Eastern Aegean, and the Ionian Islands, the company is strengthening its domestic tourism product by offering more seats, an increase of up to 11 percent. Moreover, the airline’s Business Class “BLISS” is continuing an “excellent performance”.
