Photo source: GNTO Travel agents from Eastern China recently had the opportunity to cruise the Greek islands and visit top hot spots in Athens and Nafplion during a fam trip supported by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). Organized by Juneyao Air, Celestyal Cruises, and the Chinese travel agency HCG, the fam trip was held on the occasion of the recent launch of the first direct route between Shanghai and Athens. Thirty-seven representatives from leading travel agencies from eight provinces of Eastern China (Yangtze Delta) participated in the fam trip held from April 6 to 13. During their stay in Greece, the Chinese travel agents went on a cruise to Mykonos, Santorini, Patmos, Crete and Rhodes. Their trip included visits to major attractions in Athens and Nafplion and a dinner held by the GNTO under the Acropolis. Juneyao Air at Athens International Airport. “The aim of the fam trip was to introduce the Chinese travel agents to the Greek tourism product to further strengthen the flow of visitors from Eastern China to Greece,” the GNTO said in an announcement. Juneyao Air’s Shanghai-Athens route began April 2 and is one of the company’s four intercontinental routes. Flights between the two cities operate three times per week, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
