Eligible applicants, selected by a lottery system, will be informed by text message on their smart phones, via email or online. For the first time, they will be issued a special debit card which they can use for their stay at cooperating accommodation facilities across the country. The aim of the card which will cover holiday costs of up to 400 euros is to do away with red tape. “Through the program we’ve met our commitment to making tourism accessible to as many of citizens as possible, setting expanded income but also more social criteria. In this way, we’ve ensured that more beneficiaries will have the opportunity to explore and enjoy the beauties of Greece by the end of the year,” said Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni. Balos Beach, Crete. The aim of the program, she said, is to stimulate domestic tourism and extend the tourist season for the benefit of local societies and economies. According to ministry data, a total of 972,893 applications were submitted by the April 1 deadline for the Tourism for All 2024 program. This year subsidies range from 200 euros to 400 euros.
