Greek hospitality group Athenaeum Hotels has announced the addition of a new luxury 5-star hotel to its portfolio of properties.

The new hotel, named The Athenaeum, will open in the center of Athens at the intersection of Vouliagmenis and Kalliroi avenues, offering panoramic views of the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Acropolis, Lycabettus Hill, and Zappeion. Situated within walking distance of all major attractions and the city’s bustling shopping center, the hotel promises to be a captivating haven for travelers seeking both luxury and convenience.

“The sophisticated and modern atmosphere it offers, combined with the comfort and authentic warm hospitality, aim to make it an ideal accommodation choice for all types of guests as well as for ‘bleisure’ travelers,” the hotel’s management said in an announcement.

Opening in May, the Athenaeum boasts 52 rooms and suites with contemporary decoration and high-quality furniture by renowned brands. The hotel’s interior includes unique works of art created by famous Greek and foreign artists such as Manolis Charos, Marianna Lourba, Sake, Mary Stefanou, and Jay Handy.

At the hotel’s “Pasithea” rooftop restaurant, guests can savor a menu featuring a delightful array of Mediterranean and Greek dishes, meticulously curated by acclaimed Greek Chef Evangelos Nikas, all while enjoying breathtaking views of the Acropolis. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, making it a perfect spot for both business and private gatherings.

The Athenaeum also features an outdoor rooftop pool and a conference room capable of accommodating up to 40 delegates.

The Athenaeum Hotels Group, renowned for its city accommodations, holds a prominent position in Athens, boasting four 4-star hotels strategically placed across the city: Athenaeum Grand Hotel and Athenaeum Smart Hotel on Syngrou Avenue, Athenaeum Eridanus on Piraeus Avenue, and Athenaeum K29 on Agios Konstantinou Avenue.

With the newest addition, The Athenaeum, the group’s portfolio expands to five hotels strategically located in the heart of the city, solidifying its presence in the most central areas.
